acpi loads with "ERROR: cannot set acpi Interrupt

Reported by: Chuck McKinnis Owned by: pasha
Priority: major Milestone: Release version 3.13
Component: ACPI PSD Version: 3.09

Description

acpi loads with "ERROR: cannot set acpi IRQ" otherwise it seems to work, except that APM no longer seems to detect the lid switch on my laptop. using 3.09 acpi and 1.23 apm

no Irq's are shared and my atheros cardbus card is discovered ok. unfortunately the system won't run with this card as it traps when netbind loads. works ok with my wired lan cardbus card.

here it is - also, if I attach my wlan atheros card before the acpi driver loads, the system will take a very long time to boot - or not at all. If I plug it in after the acpi driver loads

one more thing - you can see the uhci controller in the pci log - it has a single port - I cant get it working - the uhci driver says that it can't find the controller - any ideas ?

if acpi is enabled and apm is disabled then cover switch works.

comment:6 Changed 16 years ago by pasha

try add /EIS to acpi.psd

comment:7 Changed 16 years ago by Chuck McKinnis

no change with /EIS - except now if I leave the wlan card plugged in during boot - pci picks up the vendor but identifies the device as "4013h - unknown" ( instead of 0013h ) so that genmac doesn't load. If I plug it in after acpi loads, genmac loads ( device enumerates correctly on PCI ) but then crashes with a trap 003 when netbind loads. USB device drive is still not loading, even though ACPI correctly identifies it.

comment:8 Changed 16 years ago by Chuck McKinnis

with /EIS still APM prevents detection of lid closing. without apm lid works.

any help here on getting the USB to work on this ( see pci log above.. )?? any help here on wlan trap / not loading unless plugged in after acpi loads? maybe some kind of reset right after the driver loads??

e-co:

Pasha told about your ticket: "there is an error on ACPI tables init"

comment:13 Changed 16 years ago by Chuck McKinnis

e-co:

1) What is the model of motherboard?

2) Upgrade your BIOS. this may solve all problems.

3) if 2) doesn't help then try boot ACPI.PSD with /EIS switch, grab log

comment:14 Changed 16 years ago by Chuck McKinnis

it is a laptop - panasonic cf-m32 there are no bios updates available for it. I'll get you the log... but I'll have to get another NIC first - I returned that one since I couldn't get it to work.
