The PS/2 mouse stops working if ACPI is used. Also the reboot hangs if ACPI is installed. The Ahteros AR5006 family 802.11 wireless NIC does not work with ACPI installed or not.

The PS/2 mouse stops working if the ACPI driver is used. Also reboot hangs if the ACPI driver is used. The Ahteros AR5006 family 802.11 wireless NIC does not work with ACPI installed or not.

Computer: Acer Aspire 7520, CPU AMD Turion 64 x2 Mobile Technology TL-58 1900 MHz, Two 250 GB hard disks. Phoenix Bios.
I ran the Setup Defaults From the bios setup menu. The PS/2 mouse started working?%??! This setup changes only the Boot priority order to default. It is not possible to configure anything else from the bios menu.
I also changed the ACPI IRQ number from 9 to 4. Previously there were small pauses relating to spikes seen in the CPU load monitor. These pauses/spikes do not appear after the IRQ number is changed.

What is the model of notebook? Acer notebook, AMD CPU.
? Can you boot the PC and grab the log, we should look at the head of the log.
