ACPI related WPS hang caused by FAT32 formatted USB stick

Reported by: Chuck McKinnis Owned by: pasha
Priority: major Milestone: Release version 3.08
Component: ACPI PSD Version: 3.05
Keywords: FAT32/USB/ACPI.PSD Cc:

Description

On a Thinkpad T43, loaded with the latest build of eCS 2.0 RC4, a FAT32 formatted 2 GB USB stick doesn't show up as an attached drive. During that exercisize the drive folder apparently doesn't contain any drive objects anymore and after some time the WPS hangs. FAT32 support was installed and the config.sys contains the following FAT32 related lines: IFS=C:\ECS\BOOT\FAT32.IFS /CACHE:2048 /H /Q CALL=C:\ECS\BIN\CACHEF32.EXE /S /F

After removing ACPI support from the machine by placing "REM" in front of all ACPI related lines in the config.sys the FAT32 USB stick got a nice drive letter and showed up properly as a new attached drive in the drive folder.
