Component: ACPI PSD Version:

Description

The first problem is that the USB drivers are loaded but the USB mouse does not work. After the installation (only with PS/2-keyboard working) I found no solution to use the USB mouse or an USB memorystick. The switch /CD does not help.

The system is installed and running with panorama in PIC mode with the SMP kernel but there is no USB support. (eCS 2.0 RC6a)

Filesystem: Bootable JFS Memory: 4GB Graphic Card: HIS HD4350 Silence 512 MB Onboard Networking: loading, but not working

What happens if you disable USB Legacy in BIOS Setup?

comment:3 Changed 15 years ago by pasha

Can you disable FireWire? controller in BIOS? Do you sure, that you TV driver can use high IRQ?

comment:4 Changed 15 years ago by Karlheinz Schmidthaus

USB Legacy is disabled in BIOS Setup. I'm installed Panorama as video driver. Just 10 minutes ago i test without the ACPI.PSD and the system is running including USB Mouse.

comment:5 Changed 15 years ago by Karlheinz Schmidthaus

Firewire is disable, nothing changed.

comment:6 Changed 15 years ago by Karlheinz Schmidthaus

additional note: without ACPI.PSD the network is running, I can ping the gateway. With ACPI.PSD in PIC mode it doesn't.

The system boot with os2apic.psd in pic mode (networking is running and the usb-mouse is working), but it use 50W more power. How can I help to fix the problem with acpi.psd ?

comment:8 Changed 15 years ago by pasha

Please download experimental ACPI build from Mensys site:

ACPI-APIC-BAT.ZIP

comment:9 Changed 15 years ago by Karlheinz Schmidthaus

Nothing changed, no mouse (USB) and networking if ACPI.PSD is loaded.

Why you don't use /SMP options? For add /APIC you need check driver for "Marvell Yukon 88E8056". Right driver is in ecomstation.ru

comment:11 Changed 15 years ago by Karlheinz Schmidthaus

USB and networking is only work without acpi.psd.

Test with /SMP (USB not working, no LAN connection)

comment:12 Changed 15 years ago by pasha

Try use psd=acpi.psd /SMP /APIC and with /CD or without. You have many devices in IRQ10 and IRQ11. It can be problem for USB. APIC mode change IRQ and can help you

comment:13 Changed 15 years ago by Karlheinz Schmidthaus

with /SMP /APIC /CD the system does not boot. I see many lines with "PIC MASK IRQ0 mask:FFFFDCF9" on the screen in a loop.

comment:14 Changed 15 years ago by pasha

Photo of screen is better. Check for right options. Must be /SMP /APIC. /CD or not /CD need try. BTW, do you try with /SMP /APIC /CD and /SMP /APIC ?

ACPI-APIC.ZIP, need photo of screen

can I help you with debugging over serial cable? If yes, how to do it? Serial port and cable to another PC is available and working with a terminal program.

if you have a netop guest license I can give you access to the machine with the debugging console.

here you need add /O1 only. 1 mean com1, if use com2 - /O2. And place attached file to root of boot drive. I mean psd=acpi.psd /SMP /APIC /O1

Note: same problem as other boards with AMD chipset?

But one thing is not the same: Some devices (USB & LAN) are only working if ACPI is not loaded.

comment:21 Changed 15 years ago by Karlheinz Schmidthaus

Why does loading ACPI.PSD in PIC mode cause problems?

The OS2APIC.PSD is working, but cause high power consumption (additional 50W)

can you join to irc or ask to ICQ:32400130? For peer to peer debug. Else we will have debug very long time. If irc - say me about network/channel

Version: 3.143.15

Since 2009-03-26 it is running with a special testbuild of acpi.psd 3.15 and the following mapping in the acpi.cfg:

LINK LNKA 7 LINK LNKB 10 LINK LNKC 10 LINK LNKD 11 LINK LNKE 10 LINK LNKG 10

But a big general SMP problem is not solved: the power consumption is 60W higher than running the W4 Kernel without ACPI.

Note: setgetstate does not work with AMD. I hope that this will be fixed.

Milestone: Release version 3.15Release version 3.16
Version: 3.15

After shutdown with poweroff running ACPI 3.16 with with /SMP /!NOD the system does not start after powerON. The result is a black screen, no bios menu or other. I need more that one reset od additional poweroff to force it working. Without ACPI and running the W4-Kernel it's always ok.
