Reboot on shutdown

Reported by: Chuck McKinnis Owned by: pasha
Priority: major Milestone: Release version 3.15
Component: ACPI PSD Version: 3.08
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Version 3.09 and all versions since 3.03 cause reboot on shutdown. When you select shutdown the computer acts like it is going to shutdown but then reboots very annoying. PCCHIPS motherboard M811 with VIA KT266A + VT8235 chipset. Request logs included. Good luck hope this makes it in before GA version

Very similar, to what I reported in http://svn.netlabs.org/acpi/ticket/216

Yes, I agree sounds just like ticket 216. I am not expert enough or do I have any inclination to patch the program. Hopefully the experts will figure out someway to fix it. If it works with V3.03 I don't understand why it is not an ACPI issue. I guess versions through V3.03 were incorrect and when they fixed one bug they created another.

e-co:

1) check BIOS setup, disable all options related to wakeup

2) start GPEDevice (ACPI package -> utilities, GPEDevice.exe) after boot, show the output to the developers of ACPI

Pasha adds,

1) test with ACPI 3.09

2) it's necessary test PowerOff.exe and report what happens.
