acpi 3.05: problems with magneto-optical drive

Description
I installed ecs 2.0 rc4 and activated acpi with default-installation values, i. e.
BASEDEV=APM.ADD PSD=ACPI.PSD
My system is a HP X4000 workstation, purely SCSI, with two magneto-optical devices attached. As soon as I insert a cartridge the system stops during booting after having load jfs.ifs. This happens independendly if I use
BASEDEV=DANIN512.FLT BASEDEV=OS2DASD.DMD /of
or simply
BASEDEV=OS2DASD.DMD
SMP, afaics, doesn't work at all. With acpi disabled the system works just as expected. Any hint?
Ciao, Harald

Submittor adds:
As previous versions do just fine as well as Warp 4.52 the problem should be related to acpi and the hardware in my system. How may I track down those problems? ACPI runs with
BASEDEV=APM.ADD PSD=ACPI.PSD /APIC /CD
but I needed to remap the two Adaptec SCSI controllers. SMP doesn't work at all :-(
With /SMP the system freezes immediately after visualizing Kernel revision. I tried several possibilities: remapping of Adaptec-SCSI-controllers, /CD switch etc. It didn't change anything at all :-(
I tried to change config.sys according to your suggestions regarding memory problems, but nothing, afaics, changed. I fileattach logs and config.sys. Any suggestion would be very appreciated.
Ciao, Harald

Need out ftom pci.exe (version 1.04, get at hobbes.nmsu.edu) with psd=acpi.psd and REM psd=acpi.psd
About SMP, first, you need install SMP kernel. Then try boot with psd=acpi.psd /SMP (not need any options).

Replying to pasha:
Wow! Booted perfectly. Should I gather further informations? I will do some testing within the next days.
Thanks so much, Harald

In UNI kernel, acpi get low memory only. And can't do any systems management. So in your case, acpi get ~400k low memory.
I can recommended do revision your config.sys.
What a problem you have with running SMP ?
