ACPI 3.05, no suspend, no battery optimized on T42p

Reported by: Chuck McKinnis Owned by: pasha

Description

I tried the new ACPI 3.05 on my T42p running eCS 2.0 RC3 with SNAP from RC3.

As with just about every other ACPI version, Power off works, Suspend does nothing, and worse of all, going from A/C to battery does not change to battery optimized, so battery lasts less then 3 hours instaed of 3hours 45 minutes.

I tried Alex Taylor's suggested changes that worked in his T40. But using those settings my Intel Pro 1000 NIC has errors in LANTRAN.LOG and networking doesn't work even with the Intel 2200bg wifi.

For increase your battery life use SetGetState? and SetGetThrtl?.

Suspend. In T42p must work IBM APM. IBM APM do suspend right?

Netcard. Remming in config.sys acpi.psd and check netcard, if work right, do http://ru.ecomstation.ru/projects/acpitools/?action=logs and attach log here

We are interested to research Thinkpad problems. Please re-open ticket when you have time to collect logs.

Q: Thinkpad "Battery optimized" mode doesn't work if using ACPI.PSD A: "Battery optimized" was supported by IBM APM.SYS (speedstep) and doesn't work when using ACPI. We recommend use Central Remote Control -> POPA plugin to reduce power consumption and prolong battery life.

Note: See TracTickets for help on using tickets.
