With ACPI 3.0 and 3.01 the server traps. As requested a ticket on this bug. ACPI never realy worked on this machine, HOWEVER, turned out a BIOS upgrade was required! Its an IBM Xseries 345 with 2 Xeon CPU's http://en.ecomstation.ru/hardware.php?action=item&id=1194 ACPI 2.22 worked mostly however 3.0 and 3.01 trap the server. This is the update that was required: http://www-304.ibm.com/jct01004c/systems/support/supportsite.wss/docdisp lay?brandind=5000008&lndocid=MIGR-43902 (Maybe its usefull since the diskette images contains the BIOS images etc). I have an Asus M2A-VM HDMI motherboard with onboard AMD 690G chipset, AMD Athlon X2 +4000 cpu. It has ATI X1250 graphics running with Panorama. On Board sound ALC883 does not work properly with Uniaud RC4 release. It loops continuously. The Realtek 8111 Gigabit lan chip did set the switch light to gigabit but didn't transmit any data, I think I used NTGNDA.OS2 driver but may have been RTSND.OS2. I'm currently using a Sound Blaster Live card for sound and an Intel Pro/100 network card. I have attached the log files I have together with two photographs, one is with /SMP on and the other with /APIC. USB doesn't work when acpi.psd is loaded even though the same irqs are used without it as with it in pic mode. If psd=acpi.psd is used alone it's only the USB that doesn't work. The sound card and nic cards both still work. Trying OS2APIC.PSD does boot but doesn't allow the use of both processor cores. I hope the logs are useful. Unfortunately I have trouble concentrating so sorry if I have missed something but I can follow step by step instructions. I didn't get a .dat file from iasl -d. I'm using eCS 1.15. |
