Description
With eCS RC 5 testing it turned out cardinfo.dll would cause minstall to crash. We traced it back to the fact that it was on CD ROM. This problem also occurs with by giving a attrib +r to cardinfo.dll.
Paul Smedley provided a cardinfo.dll compiled with GCC. According to him this might be an Open Watcom issue.

Correction - I compiled with the Open Watcom I have installed here (1.7a IIRC) just to see if it made any difference.

Well I'm not getting a crash.
Testing with eComStation 1.2R + Uniaud 1.1.4RC6.
Setting 'attrib +r cardinfo.dll' has no effect. I installed Uniaud without problem.
I wrote a CD with the Uniaud 1.1.4RC6 package unzipped, and when I try to install, the only choice it gives me is "No Device". So something isn't working right when it's on a CD, for some reason.

The cause for the lack of option to install Uniaud when run from a CD is that pcmunlock.exe was truncated to PCMUNLOC.EXE when I burned it to a CD, so the filename doesn't match audfiles.scr.
Does the eComStation CD also truncate files to 8.3?

The eComStation 2.0RC5 CD does not have the pcmunlock.exe file truncated. Users are installing Uniaud from the CD successfully. I cannot reproduce this problem as described. However, in case it is the cause of any consternation at Mensys, I have removed the pcmunlock.exe file from the list of installed files in changeset:374.
Weird. It used to work. It would be good to have more information about this and the fix.
