RFE: Disk contents should load/run in separate thread

Accessing the Disks tab and selecting a partition/volume to view results in wait pointer and system essentially unusable for several minutes.

Volume selected is/was a JFS partition with many files (recurse subdirectories was not selected). Actual root directory contents (dir) results in the following stats:

8,741,175 bytes in 28 files and 58 dirs
