Compare directory window does not remember size and position

Description

  1. Resize not remembered
  2. Position not remembered
  3. In 3.05 b6 file names in the 2 directories don't line up correctly (ie there are blanks in one pane but the corresponding files in the other pane are either above or below the blanks. This only appears to happen when the directories have little or nothing in common. (see attached file)
