pdftops does not work: can not print pdfs

Description
Trying to print a rexx manual with cups I get the following error: job stopped: pdftops program could not be executed.
It claims the file wouldn`t be there but it is:

Interesting is that printing via the Generic Postcript Printer with ecups-pdr from PM applications does work; also printing the test page in color works.

Also uninstalling cups and reinstalling it on the same drive as Unix root produces the same cryptic errors of 'pdftops not found' though it is here.

may be the same or a similar error as there had been for http://svn.netlabs.org/rpm/ticket/49 (can not stat: 'No such file or directory.').

the pdftops.exe that is missing belongs in \cups\bin - latest cups has it
