Description
I installed cups and I'm trying to print to an Epson WP-4090 printer. The printer is connected over Ethernet and supports PostScript and PCL. CUPS detects the printer, but cannot print a test page.
I don't know how to proceed. Attempts to import a PPD apparently work, but there is still no test page output.
This printer works just fine with imported PPD using IBM SLPR, but not in cups.
I may simply need some guidance to get the printer working. I have tried from eCS 2.1 and eCS 2.2 beta.

The URI/protocol is lpd. The printer is in the hosts file, but it fails the same way if an IP address is used.

Check the error log on the Administration page and try to find the entries which correspond to the time you tried to print the test page. There should be some diagnostic information in there indicating (hopefully) what failed.

no feedback, so closing the issue. If you still have cups issues please open a ticket at https://github.com/bitwiseworks/cups-os2/issues
What URI/protocol are you using? lpd?
Some network printers report themselves by internal hostname, but if it's not configured in HOSTS or in a local DNS you may have to specify the URI by IP address.
