Can't play Icecast streams

The following stream plays fine from SeaMonkey 2.42.9esr:

​http://radio.wanderingsheep.net:8000/jazzcafe

However, when added to a playlist, and playback is requested, the message added to the title is:

Can't connect to server

This stream comes straight from the list at:

​http://dir.xiph.org/genres/Jazz

I am unable to play any of the streams on the above page from the playlist.

When added to a Media folder and the Play button is pressed, the Track position slider reads "Starting track..." and nothing happens.
