Report: V3.17 and nForce430/MCP61 chipset

Description
nstalled ACPI V3.17 files over ACPI V3.16 installation.
Due to TOTAL LACK of documentation regarding some of the files included with V3.17 guesses were made as to where to place those files which could be wrong.
Get the documentation correct or you will NEVER get ACPI developed into a working driver.
Having rebooted - without Uniaud or USB drivers in the config.sys file I generated the attached acpi-log-Model-of-your-PC.ziq
I then attempted to boot with Uniaud drivers in the config.sys file. Result: System failed to boot, stopping with SWITCH.OS2 as the last driver loaded. Guess there is no point in testing whether the system will boot with the USB drivers in the config.sys file.

I've only just realised that the graphical display (acpimanager?) did not occur when generating the logfile package.
This leads me to suspect that I have placed some files into the wrong directory when applying this update.
Please advise on correct placement of files.

Pete,
On my setup, ALL *.exe files from the package are in \ecs\bin EXCEPT ACPIDAEMON.EXE which is in \OS2. Any *.dll is in \ecs\dll EXCEPT acpi32.dll which is in \os2\dll.

Hi Dave
Thanks for the information.
Does lead to other questions such as:
All the files packaged in \utils and \gui should be in \ecs\bin ?
What about the table.dat file? - and what is it anyway? - should I have a reference to this file somewhere?
Thanks
Pete

Hi Pete,
Yes ... all files in all directories, except the ones I mentioned. Like Eugene said, table .dat can be ignored (I believe it is some kind of experimental SSDT that could be attached using the 'File' parameter in acpi.cfg - but that doesn't work [yet] with SMP kernels).
About the missing acpica.log file: if you have the line 'ACPILOG=...' set in the \MPTN\ETC\ACPID.CFG file then using 'copy acpica$ acpica.log' will not work. REM out that ACPILOG= line if you have it, then try running the log collector again. Or just post the acpica.log file from wherever ACPILOG= points to (if you have it).

Just installed eCS2.0RC7 latest (installs ACPI V3.17) and took the chance to generate a new log file package to replace the incomplete version previously supplied.
To do this it was necessary to Modify the CollectLogs.cmd file which tries to collect logs from the root of the bootdrive rather than where the acpid.cfg file states they are located.
It is also necessary to modify lines containing the directory util, eg 'util\acpibattery > log\utils\Battery.log', as the directory does not exist here.
Hopefully the new log is complete.
Anyhow, the system boots using PSD=ACPI.PSD /SMP /APIC - but only after removing all USB and Uniaud drivers.

This ticket is really old and not really relevant to the current software. If you still have problems with the current version, please open a new ticket.
sorry, again acpica.log is absent here ;-)
