ACPI 3.14 + latest UNIAUD = degradation
Reported by: | Gabriele Gamba | Owned by: | eco |

Priority: | major | Milestone: | Release version 3.19 |
Component: | ACPI PSD | Version: | 3.14 |

Description
System: Nvidia Dual core, /!NOD is required. There are two audio adapters (one on the MB, one on the video card: http://svn.netlabs.org/uniaud/ticket/160 )
The bug: testing latest Uniaud builds (the ones including "Fixes for suspend/resume in APIC mode", http://svn.netlabs.org/uniaud/changeset/453 ) system acts like without /!NOD: it boots fine up to uniaud32.sys, then there is a long delay after uniaud16.sys, long delays after usbresmg.sys and ndfs32.ifs and it hangs after vpcapp.sys.
I tested ACPI 3.16, but most of the times system doesn't boot at all, with or without /!NOD. Situation probably similar to http://trac.netlabs.org/acpi/ticket/420

Replying to pasha:
Can you boot with 3.16 with rem device=uniaud32.sys ?
Sorry, my previous report was with 3.16 from ACPI316FULL.ZIP. I now installed acpi-20090624.zip and the system acts again as with 3.14. That is:
I can boot with any uniaudio build not including "Fixes for suspend/resume in APIC mode", http://svn.netlabs.org/uniaud/changeset/453
With uniaud32.sys including "Fixes for suspend/resume in APIC mode" AND both audio adapters enabled, ACPI (3.14 as 3.16) system hangs at uniaud32.sys
(sorry also for being so late: I was not at home last week)
