Description

ASUS P5K,
I can't make ACPI work on my Core 2 Duo E6850 in SMP mode neither.
Adaptect SCSI U160 adapter
The point is it "works" but not with the /SMP /ACPI nor /SMP /ACPI /CD switches It shuts down the PC, It reboots the PC
I don't know if it can switch it to suspend or sleep mode, thoigh I don't know if it can control the power/CPU/... fan neither

Guillaume Gay
- ASUS P5K (onboard NIC and sound disabled),
- Intel Core 2 Duo E6850,
- Adaptec U160 29160N SCSI controller,
- Radeon Ultimate X1650 Pro,
- SBLive! Player 5.1,
- 3COM 3C905CX-TX.
- I managed to get eCS 2.0 RC5 to boot with 2 processors initialized with
"/SMP /PIC /CD" switches (I don't know yet what are the differences between PIC and APIC modes, but it surely helps with a SCSI controller on board).
- Shutdown, reboot via ACPI do work.
- Please note that I don't use eCS 2.0RC5 long enough to tell if it works
stable or not. There's no reason why it shouldn't be stable.
Have a nice day.
