#247 unknown ACPI must be UNCHECKED when installing eCS20RC4 on CF-30 pasha Patrick (guest)
Description

Hello,

During my tests of installing eCS20RC4 on a Panasonic toughbook CF-30, I discovered that the option ACPI MUST be unchecked. Otherwise installtion process hangs on line "Loading SCREEN01.SYS"

Now eCS20RC4 is running. In the config.sys I do not find any line with ACPI in it. I find 3 lines with APM in it : DEVICE=c:\os2\boot\APM.SYS DEVICE=c:\os2\boot\VAPM.SYS RUN=c:\os2\APMDAEMN.EXE

I was asked to install ACPI afterwarts. (files from BetaZone?) I have read the faq and documentation on this site, but it is not clear to me how and what package I need to install! I guess acpi-20080423.zip (V3.9) would be a good one, isn't it? Or must it be "acpi-apm-20080423.zip?

I attach the technical specs of the CF-30 hereby. Maybe this can help you to help me to help you.

Regards,

Patrick

#304 unknown ACPI not fully working with Asus P5B motherboard heimolepikko
Description

With UNI kernel, suspend/resume with sleepmode S1 seems to work. However, mode s3 does not. With SMP kernel, both modes do not work correctly.

I have remarks and logs included in attachments.

#169 fixed ACPI problems in RC4 pasha Chuck McKinnis
Description

I have just installed eCS 2.0RC4 on my ASUS M2V-TVM based AMD X2 system with the following results.

The system does not use both processors despite the /SMP switch and /PIC switches being set on ACPI.PSD in config.sys and the SMP kernel being loaded.

Requesting the system to shut down and power off does not work, rather it reboots again.

After turning on Archiving, the system hangs at the point where the WPS should load - hard stop CAD does not work - only power off.

overwriting the ACPI, APM and Resource.sys files from eCS 2.0 RC3 and rebooting clears the hang and the system runs on both processor cores coirrectly.

Cheers/2

Ed.
