#556 unknown ACPI 3.21.02 Hang after install David Azarewicz jdeb
Description

Biostar G41D3+ Intel E7500 CPU DDR3-1333 Crucial (2x2GB) ATI Radeon X800 256mb PCIe using Snap Patriot Torx 60GB SSD SataII I just did a clean install of eCS 2.1 on a new build above. The install went perfect and booted fine. All devices are assigned and working properly. Performance is very good.

I installed ACPI 3.21.02 downloaded from Mensys. System initially does not show 2 CPU's in the CPU monitor but is showing 2 on reboot but it hangs at EVFS eComstation Virtual File System Driver V1.002. I have to go back to the original archive config.sys to restart system. I also tried the 2 previous ACPI version with the same results. BIOS does not appear to have a hyperthreading setting and the CPU does not support it anyway. Plug and Play OS is by default NO.

There are no trap errors. The system really does not need it as it performs well without it. However, I still would like to use it if possible. Is there a switch or something? Please advise.

#419 unknown ACPI 3.xx not working in SMP mode. eco rdod
Description

Hi! I had a working eCS V2b3 and i installed the new eCs v2.0RC6 on the same system but new partition on a new SSD disk. I was able to install and start in simble CPU mode but as soon I enables /SMP and with all possible switches, it always failed with trap008 or trap00d or hung ! And during the traps, I've lost the partition or partition was made unreadable resulting into new installation at each test which made me angry due the SSD disk has short life time (near 10000 write only per address) . The only solution for me was to go back with the ACPI version to the latest 2.22 wich works in SMP mode. Config: ASUS A8N-SLI Prenmium Video ATI X850 card (had to use special AT db files I received from SNAP support in the past due the ones from the 3.18 supposed to support X850 didn't work) SNAP 3.1.8 installed. ACPI tested Version: 3.14, 3.15 and 3.16 working version: 2.22 !

#502 fixed ACPI 319 - RC4 eco eirik
Description

To enable more persons (and hence more computers) to test later versions, provide some guidelines on how to conduct updates. In my case I wanted to test ACPI 319. I copied the new ACPI/APM/AcpiDaemon files (after unlocking locked files) into the appropriate folders on my PC (a Lenovo Thinkpad T410).

Boot time was considerably lower than under ver. 3.18, and shutdown worked and other installed software worked. However, several IRQs did not work, including the network connection.

A readme.file in the relase candidates would increase the number of testers, and hence also speed up progress.
