Description

I have need of the ability to sort alpha instead of numeric, except for when there are 0's in the middle of filenames, where I do want them to sort numerically, ignoring the preceding 0's.

An example of this would be:

20060222062401B0003758.PDF
20080620085510425.pdf
20090112153145670.pdf
20050904123847286.pdf
20061212091500259.pdf
01Apr06MeetingAgenda.pdf
01_Intro_To_An_American_Treasure.pdf
2b1b6140.pdf
002_2010_File_in_VI.pdf
02_Getting_Comfortable_With_Architecture.pdf
3a922552.pdf

where I really want:

002_2010_File_in_VI.pdf
01Apr06MeetingAgenda.pdf
01_Intro_To_An_American_Treasure.pdf
02_Getting_Comfortable_With_Architecture.pdf
03Dec05Meeting.pdf
03Dec05Meeting_Minutes.pdf
03_A_Sense_Of_Space.pdf
04_How_Does_This_Space_Make_You_Feel.pdf
05Aug06MeetingAgenda.pdf
05c_522073144_v1.pdf
05_A_Country_House_For_City_People.pdf

but where I might not want

03Dec05Meeting_Minutes.pdf
03Dec5Meeting.pdf
05Aug6MeetingAgenda.pdf

sorted that way.

I would suggest a digit to specify how many columns are to be included in the alpha sort, e.g., /o:a3 to indicate only the first 3 columns should be alpha sorted.
