Description
Hello,
I just checked out the sources at the SVN repo, and produced a first Spanish version of trunk/src/nls/common/commoneng.rch (and fixed a couple of typos in the original, which I'm attaching here).
Before moving on to the help sources and other documentation, I would like to test this. However, I am currently involved in other projects so I would prefer to devote time to producing a complete NLS rather than mess around with the build system, et al. I would appreciate if you could produce the test files for me :)
Also, what would be the next logical steps to take? I assume after the GUI it would be best to translate the help, then everything else, but please feel free to correct me or point me to any documentation detailing this. Same for anything I may have overlooked regarding where to post these files, etc.

OK, after I finally found some time to play around with XWLAN ;) I could correct most GUI NLS glitches, including keyboard shortcut clashes -- there is still one, however, in the Network SSID search dialog between "Connect" and "Cancel". I'm not sure how fiddling with those might affect the rest of the dialogs, so I'm leaving that for last.
I'm attaching my last commonesp.rch so you can update your sources. I also fixed a very minor DE>EN typo in xwlaneng.inc (corrected from 3.14b3 sources.)

Thanks very much. I've merged it locally. Waiting for the help files before a pack a new package for testing.

You are welcome.
These are the little bits for ipf/common now. The main file will come in a few days, more like a week or two (an estimated 20 hours of work, maybe a bit less). If you need to release before I get it done, please do -- or tell me you are waiting just for me ;)
Is there anything else that must be translated? I can have a look at all the sources but it would be faster if you tell me what you know.
On a different note, there are a lot of references to http://wlan.netlabs.org/, which is totally outdated now. They should be globally replaced with current pointers.

I don't think there are other places. Guess you've read the help about translating ;-) I didn't since a long time :-)
Pretty sure there is nothing in the sources but all user visible text is in the files you already translated.
http://wlan.netlabs.org/ is outdated long ago. I think I've last updated it when I started to contribute to xwlan. Nowadays for most netlabs projects only the svn. wiki pages are updated. As always - to less volunteers to do the job.
I've merged your changes locally but need to merge the stuff I did at WSE too before building a new package. Probably will take a few days.

OK, these are the latest Spanish NLS files (I may have changed some things in the small ones, can't remember), and the English help source with a few typos corrected here and there.
If yo9u prefer to replace all files at once instead of one by one, you will find exactly the same files in the appropriate tree structure inside the eng+esp.zip file.
Status of the Spanish NLS is:
-UI: done, pending review in a newer build.
-Help: approx. 75% done, pending proofreading and review in a newer build. Still missing: revision history prior to v3.13 (extremely boring to translate and not all that relevant anyway).

So, this should be the last update before any new release:
-UI done and pending review in a live build (extremely minor changes)
-Help: replaced revision history prior to version 3 with a note stating to go find it in the English or German versions of the help. Remaining text is at 100%, awaiting review in a live build.
Also, I corrected a few more typos in the original English help :)

Thanks for the comprehensive input.
I've merged your inputs and uploaded beta4 at ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/wlan/

Andi, thanks a lot for the new build.
I am afraid I have no time to test it right now at a functional level, but I have tried it and maybe there is something wrong with your build system, or you forgot some files:
-In the Spanish help I find English 'Copyright' and 'Trademarks', when I provided a full translation for those.
-Second, and most importantly, it *most but not all* dialog strings are updated wrt the previous version. Notorious exceptions are in the main window popup menu: "Activar radio" should have been replaced with "Antena de radio", and in the profile properties, under Security properties, you can see "Codificación" (encryption) but it should be "Cifrado" now. Also, in the dropdown list below that you can see "Sin seguridad" when it should have been "Sin cifrado". These few 'bad' strings are of course the same in the help/manual.
I am uploading a full zip package now with some further changes to commonesp.rch (the latter string above will be "Sin cifrar" now) in case you have time to check and build again.

Hm I thought I've merged all from your latest zip, but...
Will do another build with the zip you just uploaded. Please delete your current beta4 files.

New beta uploaded (same name). I checked some of the examples you gave above and it seems okay now. But it's really hard for me to navigate trough a Spanish version ;-)
One thing I didn't merged from you is -
#define IDT_IDTXT_NOTTESTED " (Versión no probada)"
AFAIR this text comes after the version info so the previous version (yours) "Versión no probada -" is not that good. But it's some time ago and I did not retest.

the previous version (yours) "Versión no probada -" is not that good.
Good catch... maybe ;)
In my SVN tree I have "Not tested version - " in commoneng.rch und
'#define IDT_IDTXT_NOTTESTED "Nicht getestete Version - "'
auf commondeu.rch; but if you say it appears after...
Anyway, I have looked for all the changes from beta 3 and they seem into place now -- and in help too. However, the help still has untranslated "Copyright", but it was my fault -- I didn't change the directives to include *.eng files.
This is (hopefully) my last set of changes for the NLS support -- a couple more typos in the English help, a couple further changes in the Spanish UI, and a gazillion typos in the help, along with a little experiment to include a Spanish version of file_id.diz
Thanks a lot for your efforts!

Closing ticket as Spanish should be done by now. Feel free to reopen if you find a regression or new problem in 3.14beta5.
Thx. commoneng corrected locally.
You can download trunk\src\ipf\xwlanesp.inc (copied from eng) and work on that if you like.
You can test ftp://ftp.netlabs.org/pub/wlan/xwlan313_esp_test.zip. Use the included 'setlang esp' to switch to your language.
