T60 freezes after first play

Description
If "system sounds" is enabled, the startup sound plays, but the system freezes (power off required) the first time anything is done that plays a system sound.
If "system sounds" is disabled Warpvision, playrec, the cdplayer, etc all work until anything such as pause, select another track, fast forward is done. At that point the system freezes.
I have checked UNIAUD16 but the problem may be in UNIAUD32 or elsewhere. This is similar to ticket 88 but on a different model T60.
This happens using either eCS2.0RC2 or RC3 (with or without the second processor enabled) and with uniaud RC3, 4, and 5. I am unsure how to relate this to milestone and version below.

Please test with a current build of Uniaud from http://svn.netlabs.org/uniaud and reopen or create a new ticket if the report is still valid.
These are common problems for HDA systems.
