Yes, that's why I assigned this one to myself.
The holdup is waiting to get a response back from Oracle and from the OpenJDK project, as I think the current logo may infringe (the Java coffee cup is not supposed to be incorporated with other things). As soon as I get a definitive answer, I will have a direction to take, so I am working on this.

On July 31, 2017, I sent an email to Oracle requesting permission to use their OpenJDK logo for the site, per the terms and procedures outlined here: https://www.oracle.com/legal/logos.html.
Today (August 24, 2017), after no response from Oracle, I re-sent my request.
The logo I am requesting we use is: http://openjdk.java.net/images/openjdk.png.
I'll keep this ticket updated with my progress.

i received a response from Oracle Trademark & Copyright Legal Group today, which reads, in part:
We will send you a simple permission form to use the OpenJDK logo by the end of this week or early next week.
Progress!

Permission form and logo art received from Oracle. I have signed and returned, along with a mock-up of the Trac page with the new logo in place.
A copy of the signed permission form should go somewhere in the project records, I suppose (there is nothing in it which makes it non-public). I can attach it to this ticket or it may be committed to SVN. For obvious reasons, I'd prefer to not post the version of the document with my signature on it.
Permission is only valid until September 22, 2020. I guess we have to renew at that time.
Also, one of the terms requires that if there are any third party legal notices in our materials, we will include the following notice:
Oracle and Java are registered trademarks of Oracle and/or its affiliates.

the logo is replaced. the signed permission will eventually be added later.

Alt text still reads:
Java 6 for eComStation
I would suggest changing the alt text to:
OpenJDK for OS/2
I have the signed letter back from Oracle. How do you want to handle that? I can email it. Again, I'd prefer not to have my signature in a world-readable form in a public repo.

We will change the alt="" text for sure. The contract is fine on you HD only. We don't need it in the repo now. Eventually we will add it when we update to a later version.
I close the ticket, as the original issue (Logo) is fixed. If you think we should have a reminder for the contract thinggy, please open a new ticket with the current contract added. With or without your signature.
are you going to provide one?
