Description
I've read the Tickets about VDM's not working. Doesn't seem like a satisfactory answer to me. 2.22 the VDM's work. 3.08 the VDM's don't. Need to use 3.08 to use the onboard HDA audio and Nvidia Lan - so what's the solution? If I invoke a VDM the system will hang completely within about 15 seconds. If I close the window before this, then the system will stay up. Only get a flashing cursor in the VDM.

Also - !nod is not a good option - as then I have IRQ conflicts that prevent the onboard sound from working. Even with /!nod the VDM doesn't work properly - but with 2.22 it worked perfectly.

Also - starting a VDM and the subsequent crash of the VDM kills my network ( RTSND -netbios over tcpip -- the other NIC -tcpip only- ((nvidia onboard )) continues to work....

I have attached a compendium of logs to #235 - unless you want me to generate them in a different way?

Current status:
Q82: DOS/WinOS2 do not work with /APIC A82: There are systems working in APIC mode on which WinOS2 and DOS work
just fine.
In general, DOS/WinOS2 are not supported in SMP APIC.
One of possible causes: WinOs2 and DOS sessions support 16 IRQs only, VPIC.SYS for this session support 16 IRQs too. DOS never supported more than 15 IRQs, and it is not going to change. WinOS2 is based on DOS, and it is not going to change either.

Hardware support within the VDM for non-conforming drivers is not very important - but disk access to local and mapped network drives and DPMI support.. Dosbox/2 runs very slow so that it is not a realistic option.
