Description
I bought a new mainboard (Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3), the cpu is an AMD Phenom II X2 560. Windows XP is running fine on this machine. I never thought, that I could have troubles with my eCS 1.2r. Til now all motherboards worked well for me with OS/2.
If I put in a hard disk with installed eCS the pc reboots directly after the boot manager. If I try to make a new installation the computer reboots again and again after phase 1 trying to boot from HDD.
I am no computer professional, but I think the cause is the not supported chipset (AMD 870).
Here's my question: is this right, and if it is, is there a chance that You soon will bring a new version of DANIS506.ADD which supports this often used chipset? Or what can I do else?
Thanks for your help!

Grumble. No TRAC e-mails.
I didn't expect an answer anymore!
The listed ATA/SATA chipsets are all supported by Danis506 1.8.7. The timing of the reboot implies that danis506.add is not involved in the reboot.
I only looked for AMD870/SB850 in the chiplist. And no other analysis program (Win XP) reports it as ATI IXP700/800. Good, than there is another chance to get it running.
If you reboot and press Alt-F2 at the blob, what is the last driver loaded?
If I reboot, the Alt-F2 (or Alt-F1, Alt-F4) is not accepted. The computer reboots in the same moment automatically. Only when the eCS is preinstalled on a PATA-HDD the reboot is a little bit delayed, but Alt-F2 is also not accepted.
How did you gather the traces? Did you boot from the install CD?
I think I gathered the traces from the install CD, but this is three months ago - I'm not shure. So I made it again, booting from the install CD, and the traces are similar.

eCS support had the solution: more than 2 GB of RAM aren't supported by the _W4 kernel. The files OS2LDR, OS2KRNL and DOSCALL1.DLL have to be replaced through the one's of the SMP kernel 104a, even if it is no SMP machine.
Thanks for your help,
