I have installed ScreenSaver? 2.6 since years, runs smoothly without any problems. wvgui-build of 16.01.2005 also peacefully co-existst with this Screensaver. wvgui 1.0GA on loading and playing a movie usually kills my Screensaver leaving following entry in POPUPLOG.OS2:

From time to time at the same occasion just wvgui 1.0GA dies silently without any entries in POPUPLOG.OS2.

My conditions here:

latest libc06/libc061 is in LIBPATH, WarpVision? is in PATH and LIBPATH

Graphics-card is AGP Matrox G450 with native Matrox-driver 2.58.144, EnDIVE enabled for 16 and 32 bpp, 1280x1024x16M colors, Automatic PCI bus retries enabled

regarding die silently. run video2.exe 2>err.log then check err.log regarding SS 2.6. looks like it is something in SS 2.6 and its pipe worker

I even do not get a file 'err.out' created. When loading said movie, wvgui windows just disappear from my desktop - nothing else. (I added '2>err.out' to the program object and working path is the wvgui-path). wvgui plays some other movie-clip like the MACAW.AVI coming with Warp4, but only once! As soon as you want to play it a second time, wvgui frezes:-(

I do not know much of programming, but SSaver now does its job here since almost 10 years without any problems. Can be downloaded from Hobbes:

Without registration it just does not shutdown the monitor by DPMS, but I can dig out my registration data if necessary.

I tested the new wvgui 1.0.1 same problem persists however sample_488_324_xvid.avi now plays. But this time I was able to capture the output from stdout and errout now (sorry I did not realize before that wvgui itself does not provide possibility to redirect those 2 outputs, it has to be called from CMD.EXE for that feature;-)

Unfortunately according to std.out wvgui seems not to recognise SSaver is running. I do attach both outputs here as files now (std.out and err.out), possibly it helps.

For sure SSaver was running before I loaded the movie, output from TOP: Total CPU CPU% Avg% PID 0 20 40 60 80 Name

0.00.00,65 0.0 0.0 75 .....▒............... E:\SSAVER\SSAVER.EXE

In the Window-List SSaver is displayed as "ScreenSaver?"
