Are you sure that the preset region code of your laptop's dvd drive is matching the dvd's region? My laptop (refurbished IBM Thinkpad T2x) was shipped with a dvd drive with region set to 0. That means that no css encrypted dvd will play, regardless of the region of the dvd media.

Yes it was the region. It now plays DVDs after I set region code to 1. It appears IBM doesn't set it to anything from what I saw running regionset.exe Any chance WV can give a popup message if the region is set wrong for the DVD?

Now to look into why my system freezes if I try to do anything besides running a DVD.

Thanks for your help.

Mark
