Description
Commercial (encrypted) DVD does not play. WVgui 1.0 RC2, but this has been the case since I tried with this TP42p. Appears to be a problem with CSS. DVDCSS.DLL dated 2005-11-18 and file size 21,377 (the one that came with RC2) and only version is located in the WVGUI directory.

Yes it was the region. It now plays DVDs after I set region code to 1. It appears IBM doesn't set it to anything from what I saw running regionset.exe Any chance WV can give a popup message if the region is set wrong for the DVD?
Now to look into why my system freezes if I try to do anything besides running a DVD.

Are you sure that the preset region code of your laptop's dvd drive is matching the dvd's region? My laptop (refurbished IBM Thinkpad T2x) was shipped with a dvd drive with region set to 0. That means that no css encrypted dvd will play, regardless of the region of the dvd media.
