#41 wontfix USB mouse not work in 188 somebody Barry Landy
Description

Using version 188 I get repeated short beeps during and after the boot sequence; the mouse does not work and eventually the system freezes.

The system is a desktop; Mboard intel DH67BL; mouse and keyboard are PS2 connected via an adapter to a USB port.

Works fine in version 186 to which I have reverted. I also tried the "david" version of 187; this gave just 3 beeps but the mouse still did not work.

Both versions work fine on my T61.

(I Only tried once and will try again and report here if it was a transient)

#40 invalid Beeps and Hangs with USBHCD188 drivers somebody losepete
Description

Having rebooted after installing the files from USBHCD188.ZIP (except the USBD.SYS files, see ticket #39) my system was giving a "beep" now and again - the sort of noise that indicates a possible hardware problem.

After around 30 minutes the system hung and needed to be rebooted by pressing the Reset button on the system box as Ctrl-Alt-Del did not work.

Around 30 minutes after rebooting the system hung again.

Either the system has a developing hardware fault or there is a problem with the USBEHCD.SYS and USBOHCD.SYS files from USBHCD188.

I was previously using the USB?HCD.SYS files from USBHCD185 so have reinstalled those files and rebooted to test whether the system "beeps" and hangs disappear. If they do disappear I think we can conclude there is a problem with the files in USBHCD188 ...

Later: It is approximately 1 hour since I typed the above sentence and the system has not "beeped" once and has not suffered any hangs since rebooting with the USBHCD185 files installed. It seems the problems arise from using the files in USBHCD188.

The only USB devices currently in use and during testing of USBHCD188 files are a Microsoft USB trackball and an *internal* USB multi cardreader. The trackball is USB1.0; the cardreader is a USB2.0 device.

The mainboard chipset is nVidia NF430 with 1 OHCI and 1 EHCI controller.
