EVFSGUI 2.0.3 problem

Reported by: Doug Bissett Owned by: nobody
Priority: minor Milestone:
Component: Unknown Version: 3.0.34
Keywords: Cc:

Description

As discussed in the SAMBA news group, trying EVFSGUI 2.0.3 on one of 4 machines causes EVFSCTL.EXE to crash. The other 3 machines seem to work fine. The one that fails is the only machine with more than a single processor. It is an AMD Phenom quad core machine running eCS 2.0 Silver.

These results are obtained by using the EVFSGUI.EXE from: evfsgui-203-20100129-test.zip and ndpsmb.dll from: ndpsmb-1.5.0-RC2-20100206-test.zip

I will upload EVFSCTL.EXE.CRASH.zip which contains POPUPLOG.OS2, PDUMP.000 (PROCDUMP), ndpsmb.log (hopefully that is what you want), and CmndLine.txt which shows what happened in the command line window when I started EVFSCTL.EXE manually (not from CONFIG.SYS).

The PDUMP.000 file is too big. It makes the ZIP file exceed the ridiculously low 256K limit on uploads. The file itself, zipped, is 264 meg. You can get it, temporarily, from: http://www3.telus.net/public/bissett1/EVFSCTL.EXE.CRASH.zip This file does NOT contain the rest of the files uploaded to this incident, but it has the same file name, so use caution. Please inform me when you get the file, I would like to remove it from that site. Thanks...

I meant it is 264K, not 264 meg.

Tried the ndpsmb.dll from: ndpsmb-1.5.0-20100217-test.zip with the EVFSGUI.EXE from: evfsgui-203-20100216-debug-test.zip

The initial population of the network neighborhood was slow, but It populated quicker after the first attempt. This combination works fine on all of my single processor machines, but still causes EVFSCTL.EXE to crash when I attempt to mount a drive, using either the RMB Mount option, or the LOAD-> picjk a profile option. The displayed error is Parameter is incorrect, but POPUPLOG.OS2 shows: ======================== 02-17-2010 11:25:01 SYS3175 PID 0008 TID 0002 Slot 0014 M:\ECS\BIN\EVFSCTL.EXE c0000005 0000005a P1=00000001 P2=0000005a P3=XXXXXXXX P4=XXXXXXXX EAX=00000068 EBX=0000005b ECX=000cf2f0 EDX=1ffc70bc ESI=00000040 EDI=000cf3e0 DS=0053 DSACC=d0f3 DSLIM=5fffffff ES=0053 ESACC=d0f3 ESLIM=5fffffff FS=150b FSACC=00f3 FSLIM=00000030 GS=0000 GSACC= GSLIM= CS:EIP=005b:0000005a CSACC=d0df CSLIM=5fffffff SS:ESP=0053:000cf320 SSACC=d0f3 SSLIM=5fffffff EBP=09e0a038 FLG=00010246 =========================

If I use the ndpsmb.dll from the Dec, WPI file, it seems to work fine.

I do have a PROCDUMP for this, which I will attempt to upload, but I suspect that it will be too big.

The PROCDUMP, zipped, is about 291K. The max upload size is set to 256K.

Resolution: duplicate
Status: newclosed

This problem is not related with EVFSGUI but with ndpsmb.dll. The revision of EVFSGUI.EXE is not significant, the revision of ndpsmbd.ll is (all post-beta 4 builds so far show this problem).

Ticket #131 also deals with this problem.
