#90 fixed Cannot rename file or directory when resulting name only has a different case nobody Herwig Bauernfeind
Description

While investigating problems with ndpsmb/Samba in MDOS boxes, I found out that renaming a file or directory is not possible, if the resulting name only has a different case than the original one.

Example:

ren Testfile TESTFILE

produces RC = 1 and an error message:

The file exists.
#91 invalid Mixed case 8.3 directories are invisible in MDOS box nobody Herwig Bauernfeind
Description

While mixed case files are visible in the MDOS box as long as they are 8.3 compliant (and if Ticket #63 does not apply aka no umlauts), directories are only visible in the MDOS box if

  • they are 8.3 compliant AND
  • they are all upper case AND (that's wrong)
  • there are no umlauts (that's wrong, too)

in the name.

Note: With LAN Requester both files and directories with mixed case and/or umlauts are visible in the MDOS box, as long as they are 8.3 compliant.

Note: See TracQuery for help on using queries.
