#115 fixed compiler switch Silvan Scherrer Silvan Scherrer

#120 fixed OpenOffice 3: Saving a file to a Samba share takes ages from eCS system Herwig Bauernfeind
Description

Saving a files from OpenOffice 3 to a Samba share takes ages.

Scenario:

  1. Setup Samba Server for eCS.
  2. Setup a eCS Client using EVFS/Netdrive.
  3. Share a directory with 150 (or so) files in it.
  4. Save a new files from OpenOffice 3 to that share.

It takes ages for OpenOffice until the content of the directory is read from the server. As soon as the directory was read completely the file is saved with normal speed.

This has been reproduced from 2 machines across a WLAN which allows transfers speeds of 2 MByte/sec. The read speed for the directory seen on the IP monitor widget is only ~16 KB/sec.

Doing the same from a Windows OpenOffice 3 to the same Samba Server for eCS share is much faster. Therefore the culprit is either the Samba Client for eCS or OpenOffice 3 for eCS. More investigation is required.

#122 fixed Truncated server names in EVFSGUI Herwig Bauernfeind Mensys via herwigb
Description

I guess you can understand most of this... I guess the problems are due to incorrect handling of names over 13 chars long.

Subject: samba Date: Thu, 21 Jan 2010 11:01:06 +0100 Organization: Mensys

Uitgangssituatie:

  • VPC als Guest op eCS Host machine
  • Naam VPC "server" is CNV-E9E15EB4AB4 (VPC van Aland afkomstig :))
  • Nieuwste Samba EVFS Gui + executables

Wat zie ik:

Zie verder bijgevoegde screencaptures. --
