    1 Yes, there is `os2-base-fhs' which does the mentioned `bin` symlink but it's not installed by default and this creates a very hidden source of errors. There is at least one program that uses `_PATH_*` defines - dash (e.g. `_PATH_BSHELL`) but I'm pretty sure there are more (I remember I successfully solved some related build problems with making this symlink back then).
