No network in WinXP or openSUSE after working with eCS

Description

I bought a new mainboard Gigabyte GA-870A-UD3. The Revision 2.2 has a gigabit LAN chip RTL 8111E. I don't know whether the "E" of this chip causes my troubles.

If I install your r8110-0.1.3.zip in an installed eCS 2.1 with MPTS, I get the text "Realtek 8110/1Gb PCIe MAC Driver 0.1.2-BETA Copyright (c) 2010 Mensys BV DEBUG VERSION R8110$ loaded" during bootup, but no network connection is possible.

If I install the driver during eCS 2.1 installation, the bootup text is "Realtek RTL 8110/1G NIC OS/2 Driver v.0.1.2 beta 2011-02-14", and the driver works fine in eCS. But if I reboot with Win XP or openSUSE 11.4 I can't connect to the network. In XP the device manager shows something like "This device can't be startet (Code 10)". Only a cold reboot removes the error.

In both cases 0.1.2 is shown, but it is the driver version 0.1.3!

After four weeks in the hospital I had to realize, that network will not run on my computer with the onboard chip.

I think I made a mistake in my first announcement. I first had a board with rev. 2.1 and perhaps this board was the functioning one. This board had the RTL8111D chip. The exchanged new board is rev. 2.2 and has a RTL8111E chip. It isn't possible to install the v0.1.3 during eCS installation, it's always v0.1.2 from the eCS-CD. It seems that versions 0.1.2 and 0.1.3 (installed with MPTS) don't work at all with the RTL8111E chip.

It's very confusing that v0.1.3 calls itself 0.1.2 during bootup. And it's confusing, too, that v0.1.2 is installed instead of v0.1.3 during eCS installation without error message.

The R8110 driver has been replaced by the R8169 driver. Please read the wiki for the reasons why: http://svn.ecomstation.nl/multimac/wiki Please try the R8169 driver.
