New Asus MB, M5A 78L-M LX Plus, has on board LAN chip, 10ECh/8168h, that will not run with driver 8168 0.2.1. Driver loads but cannot connect to LAN. (A plug in NIC with another chip does work.) I tried to see if this Realtec chip is supported by the driver, but I cannot interpret the series of versions as listed. Should this driver support this chip?

I have a new PC with a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard. According to the insert included in the manual, I have a Realtek 8111E/F LAN adapter. MultiMac? 8169 0.0.4 successfully recognizes the card, but seems to fail at something (DHCP?) during boot (there is a >60 second pause where I expect DHCP to be happening). I can get one request out on Firefox before the connection goes dead.

netstat -n shows an all-zero MAC. I did use MPTS to manually set the MAC, but it did not help. In fact, even after setting that, netstat still shows an all-zero MAC.

I'm not sure what trace files you'll want (if any) so just ask.

E1000E-0.1.8 worked perfectly. E1000E-0.2.1 says it loads, but the system stops booting at NETBIND.EXE, and never proceeds. There is no LANTRAN.LOG file. I must force a power off to be able to reboot.
