#32 | fixed | R8169 driver -- computer locks up with on-board LAN
Description |
The R8169 driver (ver. 0.1.0) works with an add-in card using the 8169 chip, but when I try to use the motherboard's RTL8111E I can ping the router but the machine locks solid as soon as I start Thunderbird -- even with a new profile. Even Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work, and I have to press Reset or power off. The motherboard is an Asus M5A88-V EVO. I have had the same result with and without the /VW switch on the ACPI.PSD line (APCI 3.20.02). |

#31 | fixed | R8169 Zero-Mac and connection termination
Description |
I have a new PC with a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 motherboard. According to the insert included in the manual, I have a Realtek 8111E/F LAN adapter. MultiMac? 8169 0.0.4 successfully recognizes the card, but seems to fail at something (DHCP?) during boot (there is a >60 second pause where I expect DHCP to be happening). I can get one request out on Firefox before the connection goes dead. netstat -n shows an all-zero MAC. I did use MPTS to manually set the MAC, but it did not help. In fact, even after setting that, netstat still shows an all-zero MAC. I'm not sure what trace files you'll want (if any) so just ask. |

#30 | fixed | Promiscuous mode doesn't work - e1000e-0.2.2 causes major problems with Virtual PC 5.1 and Virtual Switch
Description |
On my Lenovo ThinkPad? T510, using e1000e-0.2.2.zip, Virtual PC 5.1, running WinXP and using Virtual Switch, cannot get a DHCP address. Then, trying to close VPC causes a system hang. This works better (I get an address, and I can access the internet, and my home LAN) using e1000e-0.1.8.zip, but it still hangs when I close WinXP. NAT works, but sees a duplicate name on the network, for some reason. I can access the internet, and I can shut down WinXP. |
