Description
Hi, I have installed the latest Lucide (1.0 RC1). In the changelog it says "Writes into EA thumbnail of first page of document (for eSchemes Deluxe)". I am a registered eSchemes Deluxe user. BTW, I can't see any thumbnail of my PDFs. Inspecting the EAs I don't see any thumbnail being created. When is it created? I even tried to _save_ a copy of a PDF to see if it was creating the EAs in that case, but still no joy.

Please download fixed gifio.dll - http://ecomstation.ru/projects/eschemes-deluxe/download/gifio-20070127.zip
Replace existing \MMOS2\DLL\gifio.dll

Hi Eros,
I'm not the one that opened the ticket but I have the same problem (eCS beta 3 + eSchemes deluxe). I installed new gifio.dll but problem is not solved. The EA is correctly created but the icon does not change. BTW, XWP installed here, "Use custom icons" is not enabled while "Turbo folders" is.
Bye Gabriele

Hello Gabriele,
First, existing version of eSchemes deluxe doesn't support this feature yet. eSchemes developer promised new version which will support Lucide thumbnails in next one-two weeks.
Second, it will not change file icon, but will displayed on side-panel when you select the file icon, like these screenshots: http://ecomstation.ru/projects/eschemes/screenshots/eComStation-eSchemes-Deluxe-Sosnovka2.jpg http://ecomstation.ru/projects/eschemes/screenshots/eSchemes-Deluxe-20060912.png (shots from http://en.ecomstation.ru/ecosoft/index.php?action=news&id=1321 and http://en.ecomstation.ru/commentnews.php?id=1316)

Hi Eugene,
thank you for your clarification! Reading the RC1 announcement I misunderstood it and imagined something like Linux Gnome does (and that in fact I don't like, as thumbnails icon-large are too little to be useful). So, I'll wait for next eScheme deluxe release, thank you again!
Bye Gabriele

Hi eros2, thank you for your reply (I'm the original poster). I downloaded and applied the fix, and now it is indeed creating the thumbnail, although I still cannot see it (I'm eagerly waiting for the new eSchemes Deluxe which will show these thumbnails!).
When Lucide opens a PDF (or DJVU) file first time, it writes "Loading document, please wait..." and "Creating thumbnail for document, please wait...". If you aren't see message about thumbnail, then probably, file is marked read-only or resides on read-only filesystem.
Also, for thumbnail creation Lucide uses MMPM and GIF IO procedure. If you have eSchemes Deluxe installed you probably have it's own GIF IO procedure which is broken in some way and doesn't create image. I think, it's your case.
I'll mail to eSchemes Deluxe developers to check it.
When thumbnail is written correctly you will have LUCIDE_THUMBNAIL EA as presented at screenshot:
