FM3 exception C0000005

After directory compare and insterting about 400 000 files from volume d: (FAT32, 300GB) to volume x: (JFS, 250 GB) This morning everything looked OK, same number of files on the left and on the right. I got some error messages when closing the directory compare window (see appended JPGs). Today I found also the attached trap info. My system: eCS 2.2 b II, Asus M78L5 mobo AMD cpu...

You haven't posted the original error message. Maybe it was something like:

Exception = c0000005 occurred at EIP = 13615.
SYS1808: 
The process has stopped.  The software diagnostic
code (exception code) is  0005.

That occurs after executable file corruption. An entry to POPUPLOG.OS2 is also added then.

In a maybe similar case, I've fixed my problem:

• Run chkdsk x: /f on the relevant drive(s) from a service partion.
• Replace the corrupted files with that from a backup.
