    44Yes, testing for "!pDevCaps" won't help. We would need to call "ReturnDriverCaps" in ANY case to be sure to get a valid pDevCaps pointer. In other words: "pvpfsi->vpi_pDCS" contains a completely unreliable/bogus/wrong value.
