    1 Now I see that FS_CLOSE calls FS_COMMIT, which fails with an ERROR_FILE_NOT_FOUND error. The failed function is FindPathCluster, which returns FAT_EOF (it finds no first file cluster). I can suggest, that we must notify somehow the lazy writer that format has been done.
