Description
Print jobs are painfully slow to complete. Each page takes maybe 1 minute to output. The printer light blinks for a long time, finally a page comes out. I have CUPS successfully installed on an HP LaserJet P2035 and an Epson Workforce 645. Both installations are slow. I installed "cups-base-1_4_8_3.wps", "ecups-pdr-20090324.wpi", "ecupshp-pdr-20100304.wpi" and "ghostscript-8_7_1.wpi"
Can anything be done about this?

Maybe, maybe not. It may depend what program you're printing from, and/or what your job settings or printer defaults are.
There will always be a delay between print job submission and actual printing, at least when printing to a non-PostScript printer, because the print job has to go through several levels of processing to convert it into printer-native format. A full minute for each page does seem excessive, though.
