#14 Markus Thielen Doug Bissett fixed AHCI 1.22 crash
Description

I am using OS2AHCI 1.22, from the eCS betazone, on my Asus M3A78-EM motherboard, with AMD quad core Phenom processor, and a new Seagate 500 GB SATA III drive. I had problems with my old Maxtor 250 GB SATA drive, and the old AHCI version so I wasn't using AHCI previously.

With OS2AHCI 1.22, I ran okay for about 3 hours, while I did my backups using BackAgain/2000, putting the backup files on the same disk. That all worked good (roughly 4.1 GB total output, in 3 files). The next step was to burn those files to a SATA DVD drive, using DVDDAO. As soon as I started DVDDAO, the system trapped (trap000d). I got a picture of that in AHCITRAP.jpg, but something went wrong when I tried Ctrl-Alt+Numlck+Numlck. and I didn't get anything else (looks like my diskette drive died). After I rebooted, I did the DVD burn, with no trouble.

#20 somebody abwillis fixed trap 3 Open Watcom build
Description

Seeing that the Open Watcom build was now working I decided to give it a try just to see if it would make a difference with ticket #11. It doesn't but that wasn't unexpected. It was unexpected that there is an int 3 call in devhelp.h DevHelp_VirtToPhys. The int 3 seems to get called on each boot, removing the int 3 allows the boot to proceed. This ticket may be premature but the r144 says that it fixed the Open Watcom build.

#21 rousseau ecsnl fixed /R option should be "on" by default...
Description

I'm sending this message to Ben Rietbroek who is working on some OS2AHCI points.

One thing that keeps coming up in some cases is that on systems with an Intel disc controller you need the /R option specified. In some cases the system is able to boot with from the CD but it does not recognize the hard disc. Using the /R option fixes.

In the documentation this is written: /r Reset ports during initialization (default = off

unless the [Intel] AHCI controller was found to

be

initialized by the BIOS in SATA mode)

My question what would the result be to do this by default (to always initialize) the controller. Or will this just "fix" some systems (no user action needed) and make other systems hang ?
