PowerManager errors

Reported by: Barbara Owned by: David Azarewicz
Priority: minor Milestone: Feedback pending
Component: Daemon Version: 3.20.03
Keywords: Cc:

Description

Enabling Power Management and changing something (ex. Celsius instead of Fahrenheit), the error DosWrite?(rc=109) occurr clicking OK. After, each time you run powermanager the message "Power Manager service is not available" appear, even if acpidaemon is running, however with another instance of acpidaemon open in a cmd window, operates again. Suspend/Resume? works very fine, only the PS/2 mouse must be disconnected and reconnected to work again, perhaps related to the problem of acpdaemon above?

I assume you are referring to the powerdlg.exe GUI. From your log, power management is not supported on your system so you should leave the power manager disabled. Therefore the "Power management service not available" message is correct. Read the documentation. Running "acpistat" will tell you information about what is supported and what is not.

You should not try to run more than one instance of the AcpiDaemon?.exe. Bad things can happen.

No response. Power management is not supported on this system. Running more than one Daemon at a time is not allowed and will produce the symptoms described.
