System hangs with 3.16 (20090624) on T61

Description

Installed 3.16(20090624) on my T61 using acpifu-20090624.wpi to two different partitions on the same machine. On both the system is pretty unusable because of frequent hangs. These seem to be related to the eCenter activity. Also Beer Battery widget frequently shows "No battery" which seems to occur when system hangs. Going back to acpifu-20081203.wpi fixes the problem.

Attached are logs from both booted partitions. One has eCS 2.0 RC6a with OS4 kernel and Panorama. The other is a base RC6a install with SNAP.

Please add

polling

to acpi.cfg

Does it help?

If doesn't then Embedded controller support is poor in ACPI 3.16.

Yes I just tried polling after reading a Eugene's usenet post on it and that fixed the problem. OK close this, but you need to add this option to enable polling to ACPI Wizard as part of the install. Without polling, the system is pretty much unusable on my T61 with the standard 104a or b SMP kernel.
