Computer boots again after Power Off

Reported by: Blonde Guy Owned by: pasha
Priority: major Milestone: Release version 3.15
Component: ACPI PSD Version: 3.14

Description

Asus P5GC-MX/1333 motherboard Realtec RTL 8169 PCI lan card

When using eshutdown with ACPI 3.14, the computer powers off, but then a few seconds later, it powers on again.

Also tried c:\ecs\bin\PowerOff?.exe, but same problem as eshutdown.

Tried disabling all wake on ... in BIOS, but it still happens. Made sure that wake on USB jumper is disabled on motherboard.

Check BIOS setup in section "Power Management" to off all "wakup XXX", must be off. If don't help, attach pls output from GPEdevice.exe

I have turned off all wake-up events and run GPEDevice.exe > GPEDevice.log

Once this is working I'd like to turn on wake by PCI device, because I want Wake on LAN. Wake on LAN is working fine in testing.

Try add to os2\boot\acpi.cfg:

GPEDisable 0x1D

I have added to the end of os2\boot\acpi.cfg:

GPEDisable 0x1D

The result is no different than before. I have generated GPEDevice.log again, but it is exactly the same as before.

Resolution: worksforme
Status: newclosed

I unplugged all USB cables from the computer, and it shuts down normally. I then set the jumper for Wake on USB to "enabled", and now it shuts down normally, even if USB cables are plugged in.

This is acceptable resolution. You may close this bug.
