VPIC.SYS; Asus P4C800

Description

I am running eCS 2.0 RC5 on an Asus P4C800 based computer with the SMP kernel and the latest test ACPI (29102008ACPI) using PSD=ACPI.PSD /SMP /APIC. I also add 'GPEDisable 0x1D' to acpi.cfg (it makes shutdown work correctly).

With the eCS supplied VPIC.SYS all DOS/WinOS/2 windows and apps work good.

With the VPIC.SYS supplied with the test ACPI no DOS/WinOS/2 windows or apps work at all. When I try, the entire screen goes blank and the computer freezes. I have to hit the 'reset' button to reboot (CAD doesn't work).

I have tried the newly posted ACPI25112008 with VPIC.SYS. When I try to open DOS windows, the screen goes black and I have to hard boot. When I try to open a WinOS/2 session, I get a Trap3 (see VPIC_ASUSP4C-trap3.jpg attached). The eCS supplied VPIC works fine.

Dave McKenna? reminds:

On my ASUS P4C800 system with eCS 2.0 RC6a, SMP_14.104a kernel (1 CPU with hyperthreading OFF), ACPI.PSD /SMP / PIC and IBM VIPC.SYS (comes with eCS) DOS and WinOS/2 sessions (both window and full screen) work good.

If you want me to try a test VPIC.SYS, can you point me to the newest one?
