Could not fetch data with iasl.exe

Included in acer2.zip:

* output of scanner.exe (version Rudiger posted on the 1st November 2007 to acpi-dev mailing list)

* also output of acpica$ log. (booted ACPI with /SAP:0x20 switch)

* output of pci.exe -d

My question is

I asked Eugene why the SAP switch was introduced in ACPI. He said this was done because many systems don't have a PCI bios.
Could you explain this a bit more Pasha what Eugene means by this ? Since these same systems will boot without ACPI.
So they should have a PCI bios otherwhise the system would not boot (Does OS2LDR not need a PCI bios ?)

This machine is from Joerg Skottke
