    1 In the past, I also had this issue with one WAV file (I think it was called twip.wav) but not with the others.

     1In the past, I also had this issue with one WAV file (I think it was called twip.wav) but not with the others. And since twip.wav is a very short file, I had the reverse effect than you. I am therefore pretty sure, it has nothing to do with the sound driver.
