The R8169 driver (ver. 0.1.0) works with an add-in card using the 8169 chip, but when I try to use the motherboard's RTL8111E I can ping the router but the machine locks solid as soon as I start Thunderbird -- even with a new profile. Even Ctrl-Alt-Del does not work, and I have to press Reset or power off.

The motherboard is an Asus M5A88-V EVO.

I have had the same result with and without the /VW switch on the ACPI.PSD line (APCI 3.20.02).

Very annoying, since standard task is to copy all files from ZIP into MAC dir. This way, they overwrite each other.

Please change them to 8169.txt Nveth.txt E100e.txt or something better.

I'm missing the 'Generic' Component here again :-)

Does not work for 8168. New ticket as the other realtek tickets as far as I can see do not include serial debug output, I can compile the driver by myself when someone checks in corrected files to svn, I can log debug out from com1 and I'm willing to test any change to get this chip running.
