#40 | NoChangeNeeded | r8169: No network access with newer hardware revision
Description |
The r8169 driver from may 2013 is loaded fine and lantran.log shows no error. The IP setup of the network interface is also ok. The localhost interface is working but access to other hosts on the network fails (e.g. with ping). RtlChipId? shows that the hardware revision for this device is 39. Using an older adapter with hardware revision 32 works without any problems. |

======= Further info: Realtek is onboard nic & assigned interface 1 - static IP. Intel is PCIe assigned interface 0 - dhcp IP. Even though I have set up the Realtek I have not plugged in a cable (this will be done when ready to replace old machine). I don't think this matters (and R8110 drivers doesn't trap w/ this setup) but thought it should be mentioned. The assigned IP for lan1 in setup.cmd is rem'd out. bldlevel netbind: Vendor: IBM Revision: 60.58 Date/Time?: Fri May 21 14:12:49 2004 Build Machine: BWBLD254 ASD Feature ID: FixPak? #12 | worksforme | E1000E driver doesn't work in case uniaud debug also loaded
Description |
the e1000e driver will load with no error message at bootup, but then netbind and ifconfig fail because of the missing interface, with the uniaud retail driver all is working fine. Uniaud reports itself as Uniaud32 version 2.1.3-BETA SVNr550-DEBUG. As there is no debug version of the e1000e driver available no additional logs are provided. |
