Check out the tree / Unpack the source and tools zip into an empty tree It is possible to use the netlabs CVS for src/emx. 2. Prepare the tools: a) From tools/ directory and do: unzip packages/*.zip b) Copy / unzip the gcc installation to tools/x86.os2/gcc/. c) Rename tools/x86.os2/gcc/usr to tools/x86.os2/gcc/staged. d) Execute tools/x86.os2/gcc/staged/lib/MakeOmfLibs.cmd. 3. Setup the environment: tools/env.cmd Building -------- Make sure you have setup up the environment, see 3. above. Use 'make' from the root directory to build things. The default target is called 'quick' and will to a quick build of everything assuming that gcc and libs level is pretty much the same as the one you're building. When doing this kind of build, we install the subcomponent as they are built into 'obj/OS2/DEBUG/builtunix' and uses them for the building the rest. The builtunix directory is at the head of all paths setup by the env.cmd script. When everything has been built, it is installed into bin/OS2/DEBUG/3.3.5-beta5/ (or whatever the release is set to). Other common targets are: 'double-quick' - used for releases. do two cycles of 'quick'. 'emx' - builds emx 'emx-quick-libs' - libraries 'emx-quick-libs-install' - installs into builtunix 'emx-quick-rest' - toolchain 'emx-quick-rest-install' - installs into builtunix 'binutils-quick' - builds binutils 'binutils-quick-installstage' - installs into builtunix 'gcc-quick' - builds gcc 'gcc-quick-installstage' - installs into builtunix 'gcc' - bootstraps gcc (might be broken) See Makefile for full reference on these and other targets.
